ballet
Who knew ballet could be so fun?
Last Sunday we had our first ballet performace since joining an 'official ballet studio.' I had a lot of fun watching the girls from all of the different classes perform. The show lasted around 2 hours and even though Taylor was only in one performance, it was still a great show. Some of the older girls were amazing and it was fun to watch the different experience levels. Nadia came with us also, so it was a good time. The performance was at the Saline High auditorium, which is crazy awesome. It's a new facility and had 2 balconies. It was like being at an official theatre with lighting color changes for each performance, curtain drops, pianist, and the whole nine yards.
I know Taylor is looking forward to having most of the summer off - she is happy for a break after so much work to pull of this performance (and I'm sure her instructors are looking forward to the break also).

Who knew even the 'small guys' mattered?
Here is a picture of Rondo getting hurt in game 3 of the NBA finals. It's interesting to me because you have all three of the top players huddled around him. They are truly acting like a team I guess.

better late than never
Who knew you could blink and then have so much time fly by?
So I was looking through some pictures we have and I realized I was WAY behind in posting some of the things we've done lately. In an attempt to catch up a little, I have flooded my blog with many posts this morning. To that end, keep scrolling until you get a chance to see all the new pictures...
Graduation
Who knew I could be so proud it was hard to contain myself?
Yes, I can't say enough how proud I am of J - who pushed through so much to get her degree. A few weeks ago, we had the wonderful opportunity to watch her graduate. She did it despite me going out of town for months on end, working at the church, being an amazing mother, wife, and sister. It wasn't easy, but she worked very hard to get this wonderful accomplishment.
We had her graduation ceremony on a Saturday, and then had a few people over for a BBQ afterwards. On Sunday, we had a get together at the park across the street from our church. We had between 30-40 people show up to celebrate with us - it was a great time. The weather was a little iffy, but it held up well for us. It was a fairly stressful weekend (we pulled off the 2 parties after being gone all week in cinci), but was well worth it.
Thank you to all the people that supported us, and helped us as she worked to get her degree. We can't wait to see what comes next...

Heritage Village
Who knew the 1800's could be so cool?
While we were in Cincinnati, we had some free time - and while we were driving around, we stumbled across the Heritage Village. It was a park, but in one section of it, they had an 1800's village made up of many buildings they had rescued over the years. We were able to tour a church, doctor's office, general store, garden, train station, printing business, and multiple houses. The houses were arranged starting with the oldest and by the time we were at the end of the village, we were almost to the late 1800's. It was a great time and we actually learned a lot.

They had a tunnel in the first building we went into showing a few different animals that live underground and dig holes. Of course I had to be the first one through it.
They even put Taylor to work...those buckets were really heavy WITHOUT having any water in them. glad we don't have to fill them multiple times and carry them up from the river every day...

biking
Who knew the riding a bike was so fun?
So about three weeks ago, Taylor decided to learn to ride a bike. We went to an open parking lot and let her give it a try. Within about 10 minutes, she was starting to slowly ride around in little spurts. We were so proud. After a few times of practicing in the parking lot, we have now started to ride through the neighborhood as a family (yes they convinced me to get a bike also). It has been a lot of fun and we try to go whenever we can to ride. Trinity isn't too excited about it though - she whines and cries everytime we go - I think she wants to go with us.
